The holiday where I fully exhaled

For the first time in years I didn't work on holiday and I fully exhaled. I pre-scheduled everything that I normally do so that content was going out daily without me.

Although this took some planning and intense work beforehand, it was so worth it.

We spent a week in Marbella, just the four of us and we absolutely loved it.

As I've been many times before, I had an idea of what outfits I had that would work, and what pieces I wanted to bring this year.

When it comes to style this has been a real journey for me.

In case you didn't know I ran my own fashion boutique for men and women which was my first business. I create all the content for my mum's business The Wardrobe and there's perks like going to London to preview new season collections before they ever hit the stores.

Style matters deeply to me. I have a few rules that I quietly follow that I'm sure I'll share as I write here.

My holiday wardrobe took me longer to create than I care to mention. But it's a process that I've grown to love.

One thing I've learned from my mum is this...

Attention to detail matters A LOT.

Everything given the same level of care and consideration creates the success of an outfit. Or success in general.

Whether you're setting the table for a quiet lunch, getting dressed for the everyday or doing a simple task like folding the washing, attention to detail is what gives you the best feeling in the world.

Marbella Outfits

Style is personal. So when it comes to what I love to shop for, I'm fussy, I don't just buy 'anything' and only order what I intuitively FEEL is a possibility.

I love to shop on My Theresa as there's such a variety of brands, Holland Cooper  I love for everything from farm to field and beach, and I love to discover new brands like Pink City Prints.

I wore this Staud dress twice which just felt so right with it's fresh summer print and light cotton fabric. I paired it with the Tusting Mini Holly bag in the colour cloud. Along with flat Ralph Lauren slides.

I loved the simplicity of these sleeveless linen shirts (in both the pink and the white), paired with this PCP skirt in the gorgeous 'vintage bouquet' print.

The white linen shirt I wore with this fabulous lace trouser by Adriana Degreas Global. When I tagged them on my Instagram and they reshared my post, they said that this is a My Theresa exclusive! There's also a gorgeous lace top to match that makes a lovely set.

I added a thin Celine belt and Celine bag to complete the look. Along with my very old but faithful Burberry slides. Similar here.

For nice white dresses I chose this HC shirt dress in crisp white (I also have the blue) and paired it with a thick tan Sézane belt (similar here), my oak Mulberry bag and again my Burberry slides (similar here).

My second choice was this Australian brand Possé white halter dress which was perfect for our visit to Estepona where it was still a very hot 34 degrees at 7pm at night! I wore this with flat HC slides and the Justine Sézane basket bag (that was also my travel bag!).

I brought along my favorite Camilla dress that I bought for an event in London earlier this year and it was perfect for our evening dining on the beach. I love this with my Jimmy Choo bag and RL flats.

For an evening in Marbella's Old Town I opted for this linen floral Sézane dress that caught my eye immediately. The soft but colourful tones are so beautiful. My sandals are my go-to block heel strappy sandal from Jimmy Choo a few years ago. Similar here.

One final piece that I wore lots was this white Heidi Klein beach dress that looked chic over swimwear and was light enough for the heat.

3 Books I Read

In all honesty I grew up with books. I never went anywhere without a book in my hand. But over the years I forgot how much I love a good book.

For this holiday I wanted easy-to-read, light and inspiring holiday novels. I did a fair bit of research before landing on these as my choices. To be honest they were all different and amazing in their own way.

I've linked them below (affiliate links).

1; The Artist

2; The Wedding People

3; The Correspondent

The Correspondent is the whole reason I'm writing this blog. I remembered how much I love to write. This book reminded me of what I love and why.

What are you loving lately?
A book, a place, something you’ve bought, something you’ve discovered… I’d genuinely love to know.
